The Region 8 Archives is a modestly-funded operation consisting of one, part-time archivist whose mission is the filing, preservation, and providing access to records from the five synods that support its operation. Written, telephone, and e-mail inquiries are welcome. Unfortunately, other than inquiries requesting specific information regarding topics relevant to the primary mission of the archives, the archivist does not have the time to do general research.

Confirmation of Baptisms
If requested, the Region 8 Archivist will provide, free of charge, copies and certification of baptisms from disbanded Congregation Records in the archives' collection for individuals who need the documentation to apply for membership in other Lutheran congregations, or in congregations of other denominations; or for Social Security or other benefits.
