at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
From the east:
Travel U.S. Route 30 West, following signs through the traffic circle
in the center of Gettysburg (exit the traffic circle directly opposite
your entry point to the circle). At the second traffic signal after the
traffic circle stay in the left-hand lane and go straight onto Springs
Avenue (U.S. Rte. 30 West goes right). Continue to second stop sign at
Seminary Ridge. Turn right onto Seminary Ridge. Parking is behind Wentz
Library, on the left-hand side. Signs say Visitor Parking.
From the north:
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) travel south on U.S. Route 15, approx.
30 miles to the Route 30, York Street exit. Take U.S. Rte. 30 (York Street)
exit and go West on Rte. 30, following signs through the traffic circle
in the center of Gettysburg (exit the traffic circle directly opposite
your entry point to the circle). At the second traffic signal after the
traffic circle stay in the left-hand lane and go straight onto Springs
Avenue (U.S. Rte. 30 West goes right here). Continue to the second stop
sign at Seminary Ridge and turn right onto Seminary Ridge. Parking is
behind Wentz Library, on the left-hand side. Signs say Visitor Parking.
From the south:
Enter Pennsylvania on U.S. Rte. 15 (from Frederick, MD). Exit at Business
15 North, Steinwehr Avenue and turn left onto Business 15 North. Follow
Business 15 North into the traffic circle in the center of Gettysburg.
Exit the traffic circle on U.S. Rte. 30 West (3/4 of the way around the
traffic circle from your entry point). At the second traffic signal after
the circle stay in the left-hand lane and go straight onto Springs Avenue
(U.S. Rte. 30 West goes right here). Continue to the second stop sign
at Seminary Ridge and turn right onto Seminary Ridge. Parking is behind
Wentz Library, on the left-hand side. Signs say Visitor Parking.
From the west:
From Chambersburg take U.S. Rte. 30 East for approx. 30 miles. As you
approach the Gettysburg area you reach a traffic signal at the edge of
the battlefield. The cross street is Reynolds Avenue where several monuments
to the Battle of Gettysburg are found. Seminary Ridge is the next right-hand
turn, opposite the High Point Restaurant and Larson's Quality Inn. As
you approach the right turn, you will notice seminary buildings, including
the chapel, on the right-hand side. Follow Seminary Ridge past the chapel
(on the left) and park behind Wentz Library on the right-hand side. Signs
say Visitor Parking.
