Who We Are

The Region 8 Archives of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is the collective memory of the ELCA church organizations located in Central Pennsylvania (Allegheny, Lower and Upper Susquehanna synods), Delaware and most of Maryland (Delaware-Maryland Synod), and the greater District of Columbia-Northern Virginia metropolitan area (Metropolitan Washington DC Synod). In storage are certain records relating to ELCA synods and their precedent bodies as well as Lutheran congregations.


LOCATION

The ELCA Region 8 Archives is housed on the fourth floor of the A. R Wentz Library, situated on the campus of the Lutheran Theological Seminary in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Click here for directions.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The Region 8 Archives archivist is in the office most Thursdays and Fridays, 9:30-12:00 & 1:30-4:00 PM EST.
